By Ross M. Feldman, Chief Technology Officer,
US Financial Services, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Services

Today, 60 percent of the world’s population owns a mobile phone. Is this an opportunity for those of you in the financial services industry to grow market and mind share? And if so, how do you mitigate the inherent or perceived risks so you can retain the trust you’ve established with your customers over the years?

Like many others in that 60 percent of the world’s population, I expect to have access to information including my finances – instantaneously from wherever I might be at the time. That being said, I also expect all my transactions to be protected and secure – especially my banking transactions. My bank is where I safeguard the money I earn so I can pay bills, purchase merchandise, and feed the family, not to mention the safeguarding of all of my personal information. It’s also where I plant my money to grow so I can continue to fund my lifestyle for years to come. The trust I have in my bank has been earned over the years through it’s diligent attention to government regulations, consistent monitoring of all activities, and their comprehensive security measures.

So how can a financial institution safely leverage the power of mobility to transform the customer experience to drive new revenue, increase profitability, and keep customers for life? You can access this roadmap in the Special Edition of Industry Edge from HP Enterprise Services focused on Mobility in Banking. This e-brief is packed with information on how to access a new world fuelled by mobility and connectivity. Topics include how to seize the opportunity, mobilize for the future, and enable enterprise mobility. If you want to learn more about how your financial institution can take advantage of the mobility boom, this is a great place to start.

I’m sure you have your own ideas on how to thrive in a mobile, connected world.
