An opportunity to learn more about an emerging cloud standard and applications transformation.

Discover2012.jpgMy colleagues and I have blogged several times on the topic of Applications and the Cloud. In my blog, “Building a house or moving apps to the cloud: Start with a good foundation”, I discussed the importance of using a framework to guide your team as you strategize and execute on your plan.

While architectural frameworks define the vision and style of the architect, it is the standards (electrical, building, etc.) that ensure the operational reliability and safety of the structure. The same holds true for cloud computing.

Did you know that we have an emerging standard for cloud computing? It’s called SOCCI (pronounced saw-key) which stands for Service Oriented Cloud Computing Infrastructure. It is the technical standard that The Open Group developed early this year. HP, as a Platinum Member of The Open Group, has played a leadership role in the definition of this standard.  Nadhan will be presenting this standard for the second time at the HP Discover Conference in Frankfurt after having presented it at HP Discover in Las Vegas earlier this year. I encourage you to attend his session to learn more and to also consider the following sessions during your visit to HP Discover:

Session Title: Master the Cloud: Application transformation in preparation for cloud

Speaker: Luc Vogeleer

Session Code: BB2883

Session Title: Applying the world's first cloud technical standard to your environment

Speaker: Easwaran Nadhan and  Luc Vogeleer

Session Code: DT2898

Session Title: Transform your SAP landscape: a hybrid cloud deployment strategy from HP

Speaker: Lothar Kutschker

Session Code: BB1573

Time spent with our subject matter experts on the show floor will provide you with additional, valuable insight. In the Applications Transformation area, you’ll be able to see some great demonstrations of Application Transformation to Cloud and CRM and ERP applications delivered via the cloud.

Enjoy the event!
