Application Transformation solutions for a new style of IT

By: Daniel Amor, EMEA Lead for Application Modernisation, Hewlett Packard Company

Day 2 is about to start at HP Discover in Las Vegas. There is a full program to attend. Here are a few of the highlights of today.

It has become clear that the cloud is here to stay and therefore applications have to adapt to harness the power of the cloud. Kevin Bacon has provided some interesting numbers during his appearance on Meg Whitman's keynote speech yesterday. Cloud Applications and deployment of currently non-cloud-aware applications to cloud platforms become more important.

BMg94fiCcAE5CiL.jpg large.jpgThe day will be kicked off from an application transformation perspective with the track keynote by Paul Evans (Director, HP Application Transformation Solutions), who will talk about the new Application Transformation solutions for a new style of IT. His speech will span all the different aspects of application transformation and provide a good overview on the following sessions that will enter into more details on specific solutions. Please join Paul at 10:30 am in Palazzo P for his very interesting presentation.

But Paul is not the only one to present new application related topics during the day. There is a wealth of other sessions that you should consider visiting during th day.

  • Paul Evans and Irene Dudgeon will be speaking about how to design an engaging app at 12:45 in Theatre 3 (DT3569)
  • Traci Terterian has some new ideas about designing the user experience at 1:30 pm in Theatre 3 (DT3570)
  • Parminder Sohal and John Jeremiah can help you in designing, developing and deploying mobile applications at 2:15 pm also in Theatre 3 (DT2597)
  • Paul Evans has even more to say at 3pm on Systems of Engagement: It’s all about apps and integration in Theatre 3 at 3 pm (DT3205)
  • Eitan Katz and Carleen Christner will follow with a talk on connectors for integrating systems of record and systems of engagement at 3:45 pm in Theatre 3 (DT3062)
  • Jonathan Dove and Sean O’Leary are talking about how to manage successfully the transformation journey at 4:30 pm in San Polo 3406 (BB3252)
  • And finally there is Tom Hall and Jon Bailey showing you on how to develop apps for the cloud at 4:30 in Theatre 3 (DT3571).

So lots of news during the day and I hope to see you at one or the other of these sessions.
