CIO's now have a safe 'HAVEn' for Big Data Analytics

iStock_000013071495Small.jpgAshim Bose, Senior Director of Technology Platforms for HP Analytics and Data Management Services, sat down with Howard Solomon of IT World Canada to discuss the recently announced HAVEn As-a-Service platform.

As outlined in the announcement, HAVEn As-a-Service offers customers an industrial strength big data platform for discovery and production in the HP Helion private Cloud As-a-Service based on enterprise SLAs and is available on demand. This offer encompasses software, infrastructure, managed services, private cloud, and consulting in an easy to consume opex based model.

The article mentions that “organizations can pick which single application is needed”. For instance, a company can begin by consuming Hadoop As-a-Service to extract value from Hadoop data lakes. They can then choose to leverage Vertica As-a-Service to analyze massive volumes of data in near real time and exploit the pre-built analytics functions. From here, one could then leverage the rest of the platform as a service to integrate with Autonomy IDOL for your unstructured data and HP Enterprise Security to secure your data and apps in production.

Ashim notes that “We are making it easy for the CIOs of Fortune 1,000 companies, working with their business partners, to provide a big data platform that can integrate and accommodate legacy apps, but also provide a path forward in terms of volume, variety, and velocity to drive rapid business value”.
