HP Discover: Is the Internet of Things (IoT) real?

Discover - Cropped.pngJoins us at HP Discover in Las Vegas to understand new trends and technologies that will transform our future vision.  One of those, is the Internet of Things (IoT).  There is a lot of noise around IoT lately, but is this something that will fundamentally change the way business is done, or is it just another fad?  What we have seen thus far is just the tip of the iceberg.  We are in the midst of a disruptive technology that will reshape our thoughts, our business models, consumerization of IT, data collection, data privacy, data security, business processes, sales channels and many other things.  So yes, this is a big deal.

IoT immersion is going to take us by storm.  We’ll have a huge growth in devices and sensors that will monitor, automate and create new transaction streams that businesses and IT departments must deal with.  The value of IoT is still being defined and will change greatly as adoption becomes mainstream, but it will advantageous to embrace this coming trend.  From wearables to sensors, the amount of new data generated will be a challenge to harness, but the potential benefit will elevate this new environment to one of the highest priorities for business and IT adoption.

Don’t be left out in the cold.  Join us at HP Discover on Tuesday June 10th in the Enterprise Services Pavilion, Discovery Theater (DT3) for this exciting session The Internet of Things (IoT) and the impact on IT.  We’ll discuss the future of IoT, how we envision change in daily lives of not only consumers but in business and the benefits it brings.  One thing you can’t ignore within this changing environment is security.  We’ll talk about how security is important and the balance needed to sustain a business advantage along with protection principles that must be analyzed and included in ongoing strategic decisions of IoT leverage and usage.  While the complexity will create confusion, the business value will be enormous.
