Demo of Vision software for HP 3PAR

HP Discover was about 7 weeks ago and it would appear that I'm a slacker because it took me until now to get this video demo edited and up on my blog.  It's been a busy several weeks back from our Christmas break and I'll talk more about that tomorrow when I'll make an announcement on ATSB - so come back for that.

But let's get back to the topic at hand.  AntemetA is a storage integrator in France but also have a group that is doing software development.  Samuel Berthollier from AntemetA gave me a demo of the software that basically takes HP 3PAR System Reporter data and presents it in a very nice graphical interface.  Here's the demo:

I have a hardcopy of the data sheet and here are a few things it says about Vision:

  • You can use VIsion to visualize the back-end or front-end performance - either IOPS or bandwidth
  • Vision can quickly detect and isolate performance problems and can help you anticipate changes in your capacity requirements over time.  Samuel shows me this in the demo - pretty cool stuff!
  • The graphics - histograms, trend curves, pie charts - are selected to optimize reading and decision capabilities.
  • Along with running on PC's, Vision also runs on some mobile devices like iPad and Windows 7 Tablet PC's.  It will also support future Windows 8 Tablet PC's.

You can learn more about AntemetA at www.antemeta.fr (note that both English and French versions of their website are available).

And remember to drop by tomorrow for the announcement I'll be making.
