Today: Focusing on database acceleration, sharing a few customer examples

Launched last June, the HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 is now solving real-world business problems for our customers. This all-flash array is all about performance without compromise. With HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450, customers are seeing performance increases that are making a real difference to their business. Flash optimizations eliminate storage bottlenecks and enable operational efficiency. Thin technologies provide the least possible raw storage usage with no degradation of performance.

Combine this with rich data services like 3PAR Priority Optimization software that assures service levels for applications and workloads and Tier-1 data protection with 3PAR Peer Persistence software – and customers have found a winner.

Accelerating performance for mission-critical applications

3PAR3_blog.jpgIn production around the world, HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 with Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases repeatedly see better performance compared to traditional storage with spinning media. One customer is using the 7450 with Oracle Demantra demand management solution as part of its E-Business Suite environment. This customer currently uses a 3PAR StoreServ 10000 and 7000 with more than 100TB of capacity for Database and File Server and has recently added the HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 as the performance key for this “demand management” environment.

A large financial institution bought the HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 for its Oracle-based e-banking application where the first priority is optimized performance. The customer is taking advantage of the 7450’s very low latency to improve its customer’s experience.

In another example, a customer is running the StoreServ 7450 to improve performance of its SAP material planning for overnight logistic and order build work. This database batch job required high I/Os per second.

Meeting shipping reservations at peak times

Another customer in the shipping business was looking for a high-performance storage array to improve shipment reservations, especially at peak times. The company’s previous infrastructure could not keep up. As a result, shipping customers faced very high response times and very slow performance. After the 3PAR StoreServ 7450 was deployed, those problems went away and customers were able to make reservations with no waiting. The result? Improved satisfaction.

More companies in more industries choose 3PAR StoreServ 7450

Large companies in a variety of industries are choosing HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 for its proven ability to help accelerate business performance—and not just in database environments. Customers are seeing the same accelerated performance with virtual desktop (VDI) solutions and with a variety of workloads running on virtual servers.  With its accelerated application performance, HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 allows these businesses to expand with confidence.
