HP 3PAR hands-on lab: provisioning

CartoonCalvin100X100.JPG By Calvin Zito, @HPStorageGuy

Our Technical Marketing team has several "hands-on labs" that they've developed and are featured at events like HP Discover.  These hands-on labs are intended to give attendees a .... well, a hands-on experience with our products.  I thought it would be useful for me to do the introduction to HP 3PAR hands-on lab so that I can see it for myself and as an opportunity to share with you.

The following video is about 10 minutes long and what you'll see in this hands-on demo is this:

  • You'll see the HP 3PAR Inform Management Console - or IMC
  • I'll create three Common Provisioning Groups (CPG's) and explain a bit about what they are
  • Create a couple Virtual Volumes (VLUNs)
  • Present/export the Virtual Volumes to a host

Here's the video:

There is an HD version of the video on YouTube that you might want to watch as you'll get a better view of the Inform Management Console.

You can learn more about HP 3PAR at  I'll have another video in the next few days that will focus on Thin Provisioning and HP 3PAR Zero Detect.

Our Tech Marketing team has other hands-on labs that I can do - what types of things would you like to see?  Leave a comment and let me know and I'll see if it's something I can get video of.

Tuning and Adaptive Optimisation, that's the stuff that we love.
