HP TechCast - lets talk tape storage!

A few weeks ago, Jeffery Powers (@Geekazine) and I did a live HP TechCast with our special guest Jason Buffington (@JBuff), Sr Analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group. Unfortunately, I forgot to hit the "record" button. It was a fantastic webcast and I didn't record it!

Fortunately Jason was able to join Jeffery and me along with HP LTO expert Bob Conway and we did a redo. We all thought the second go at it was a far better webcast after we got another chance at it.

In the HP TechCast, Jason kicked it off with some research he and ESG had done asking about 300 customers a series of questions about their backup processes.  The results were interesting.  From there, we talked about the use of tape in backup and archiving and what some of the technology enhancements are that have come with LTO-6 that have breathed new live into tape.

Here's the HP TechCast:

You can also download an MP3 version of the HP TechCast.

You can see all my previous blog posts about StoreEver tape storage and the StoreEver announcement page we did and those would be places to learn more - or feel free to ask a question in the comments or reach out to me via Twitter.
