More on HP StoreEver LTO-6
By Calvin Zito, @HPStorageGuy
My blog post earlier today was an overview of our HP StoreEver Tape Storage announcement today. I want to add to that an HP Storage ChalkTalk I have focusing on HP StoreEver LTO-6. I hope you find these ChalkTalks useful - I have a good time making them (call me a geek!). Here's the LTO-6 ChalkTalk:
There's also a great announcement website where you can find a lot more content on HP StoreEver Tape Storage - you can find it at www.hp.com/go/storage/nextera.
My colleague Andrew Dodd has a blog post titled LTO-6 - the latest leg in the tape storage relay. Its looking at the history of tape at HP starting about 20 years ago. I remember the moment when I saw my first DDS tape and asked if it could hold music. At the time, I worked on reel to reel tape backup systems so the idea of a tape cartridge was novel. Anyway, check out his post - a good read.
Lastly, there's a pretty cool infographic that our team created that you can download by clicking on the icon. All I got to say is tape ain't dead - not by a long shot (and I can't help but chuckle when I think of competitors who've been saying it since the early 2000's).
