Storage at the HP World Tour in Mannheim

CJZ Headshot fixed 150 x 150.jpgBy Calvin Zito, @HPStorageGuy  vExpert 4 years.jpg

One of my stops on my 4-week European tour was Mannheim, Germany and the HP World Tour. One session was in English and the rest of them were in German.  While I worked in Germany for 6 months early in my HP Storage career - I introduced one of the industry's first disk arrays in Europe - my German isn't good enough to understand a session.  So I set up my video camera and did several interviews.  I wanted to share a couple of them with you today.

The State of HP Storage in German and across the world

I had the chance to meet and spend some time with Guido Kersten.  Guido, like me, is a long-time HP employee.  He took over HP Storage as the country manager a couple of years ago and has had a huge part in turning things around.  We talked about the turn around and the state of HP Storage in Germany.  You'll note my new intro - the old one was driving the strip in Las Vegas; see if you know where this new intro is from.

Partner View of the state of infrastructure

I did several interviews with partners and there was a common theme in all of them - a genuine excitement about the HP Storage portfolio that is driving lots of success.  I'll share one of them today and the others in the near future; Markus Kuhn is an Infrastructure Consultant with MCL Computer & Zubehör GmbH, an HP partner.  Markus is Master ASE, a certification achieved through HP ExpertOne.  Markus and I talked about the challenges customers face and some advice for customers about how to evaluate products and solutions.

You can learn more about the HP Storage portfolio on our hp.com home page. It's a great starting point to learn more.  On our home page, there a link to a very slick product selector tool that can help you narrow down wht product is best for your requirements to checn that out.
