If you've been following my blog this past week or the conversation on Twitter, you know that we made several a significant storage announcement last week at HP Discover.  You can check out all of the posts I've done about the announcement by clicking here.  There are two products left to discuss - the X5000 and the X9000.  I did a video of the X5000 while at HP Discover and I'll bring you that next week.  In that video, I talked to both the HP product manager as well as the Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 product manager as the X5000 is based on it.

Today, I'll give you an overview of the X9000 IBRIX Network Storage System with Patrick Osborne.  Whenever I have X9000 questions, Patrick is the expert I turn to.  He was with IBRIX four years and now has been working on the solution for 6 years.

In the video, Patrick talks about:

  • What customer issues are driving scale-out NAS conversations
  • The basics of the X9000
  • What's new with the X9000
  • Where it fits in the "big data" conversation that has emerged in the last several months

Here's the Power Podcast with Patrick
