HP VirtualSystem VS3 for Microsoft podcast at MMS
This blog post has been re-published due to a technical issue. You can find it here: http://h30507.www3.hp.com/t5/Around-the-Storage-Block-Blog/HP-VirtualSystem-VS3-for-Microsoft-podcast-at-MMS/ba-p/111635
Tape and LTFS podcast from NAB
NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) is wrapping up tomorrow; today at NAB I focused on LTFS doing both a podcast and getting a video demo of using LTFS in a Microsoft Windows environment. You'll have to wait until next week to see the demo because I have to edit the video on my Z600 Workstation which I did take with me to Las Vegas.
The podcast I have is very interesting - I had a great time talking to Mark Fleischhauer. As you'll hear, Mark has been a tape technologist for a long time. We talked about the new life that tape has been given because of LTFS and I think we pretty well smash the "tape is dead" conversations I see about once a week.
Here's the podcast with Mark.
Fueled by HP, powered by Watchitoo
I'm at NAB and got a demo of Watchitoo. They are a partner of HP's and are in our booth. As a video blogger, I'm pretty excited about their technology. I just recorded a short video from their platform - here it is. I hope to have a podcast or video in the next few days going deeper on Watchitoo.
HP at Microsoft Management Summit podcast
While I’m in Las Vegas at NAB, less than a mile away Microsoft Management Summit is also happening. I’ll drop in there later this week but I wanted to share some news with you, hot off the press. I have a podcast with HP 3PAR product manager Kiran Sreenivasamurthy talking about his presentation at MMS along with a part of the news. In the podcast, Kiran talks to me about the newly announced integration we have of HP 3PAR with Microsoft System Center 2012.
Today at MMS, Microsoft announced the general availability of System Center 2012. HP also has a few things we're announcing. You'll have to read the blog post to get the details but here's the podcast with Kiran:
A big day at NAB
If you've been reading the blog over the last few days, you know that I'm at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in Las Vegas. Just in case you haven't seen those blog posts, here's a link to the two blogs I've written talking about NAB. Today I have a quick blog post to point you to a few things happening today (especially for NAB attendees) and a very cool video I have of a demo I got yesterday.
Today at NAB, I have a great deal for you!
HP has what promises to be a great session titled “Better than HAL? – The impact of new meaning based computing on Media industry” Tuesday at 1 PM in session room S224. HP Autonomy CEO and co-founder Dr. Mike Lynch and HP Storage VP of Marketing, Strategy and Operations Tom Joyce will lead the session with special guest Lincoln Wallen, head of R&D at DreamWorks Animation.
So what's my deal? I have a pretty generous supply of beer tickets for the NAB Beer Garden (sponsored by HP - thank you very much!). Join me at the session today, find me and say hello and you can have a beer on me. I shouldn't be too hard to find - I'll be wearing my HPStorageGuy logo-ware and will sit toward the front of the room.
I'll also have another option that I'll talk about on Twitter - so if you're at NAB, follow my Twitter stream and you'll have a great chance to have a beer on me!
