HP StoreOnce B6200 high availability podcast
One of the big announcements HP had at HP Discover was the new StoreOnce B6200. I've had a few blog posts talking about the StoreOnce announcement and if you haven't checked them out, I'd highly encourage you to do that. I think the advances we've made with the product over the last couple of years should make it a product on the top of anyone's enterprise-class disk-based backup solution list.
Today I have a podcast focusing on the high availability features built into the B6200, the most unique of which is Autonomic Failover. As I understand it, the market leader EMC Data Domain does have a dual controller appliance but if a controller fails, the backup fails. As you'll hear in the podcast, the B6200 can failover backup jobs to another node in the B6200.
I also got this cool picture of the moon tonight - but you'll have to go to the blog post to get that story and to hear or download the podcast.
X5000 G2 Review by Windows IT Pro
Late last week, I noticed an article about the X5000 in my Google Alerts - a review of the new X5000 by Windows IT Pro. Since I had written a blog post about those updates to our X5000 a couple of weeks ago, I made a mental note to do a blog post on this. Well, if you know me very well, making mental notes is never is not a good idea. Fortunately, I got another Google Alert pointing to a blog post by Scott Johnson. I've got to know Scott a bit over the last year and had him in the first X5000 blog post (a video) I did from HP Discover in June 2011.
