If you liked your EVA, you’ll love HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage

The HP EVA was built in an era of predictable data growth and database application but as you transform your data centers, you require modern scale-out architectures more suited for today’s multi-tenant, mixed workload environments. Now it’s time to consider making the move to HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000. You’ll find some motivating details in my blog post and the accompanying ShortTake. New ShortTakes on StoreOnce and HP 3PAR AFA

P1040991.jpgI am back from what has been the longest vacation I've ever taken - almost 4 weeks.  While I did have three work events I attended in Europe, my ttime in Europe were pretty much all vacation.  I did post a blog from Germany about half way into the trip so check that out.

I took over 1300 pictures.  And no, I wouldn't make you look at all of them (though many are amazing) but Google Plus has this very cool picture diary it created from the pictures I took with my SmartPhone.  I thought this was cool because all I had to do was add a few captions and remove a few pictures I thought weren't the best so if you want to see what I did, click on the link. But now, it's time for me to get to work.

Three new ShortTakes to share

If you remember, the week before I left for Europe was HP Discover.  That was also a rather intense week and I wasn't able to share with you a few ShortTakes from our product experts.  I have three to share - two focused on HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 All Flash Array and the other on HP StoreOnce.  I'll include them here in "rapid fire" fashion with no other commentary as the ShortTakes speak for themselves.  As with other ShortTakes, I have the audio you can listen to and slides you can click through. So here they are.  (See the full blog post for the ShortTakes)

Securing backup data with HP StoreOnce

If you've noticed, we've been running two weekly series here on ATSB: 3PAR Thursday and BURA Sunday.  This was an ingenious idea on my part to get other people contributing to the blog.  If you haven't seen some of these really good posts from our experts, you should take a look at them.

I've let the StoreOnce team take a break this Sunday (even though most of the team is in the UK and it's a long weekend here in the U.S.).  For our BURA Sunday post today, I have a ShortTake on security for HP StoreOnce.  Since the guys on the StoreOnce team did the ShortTake, I told them I'd be happy to post it for them today.  And besides that, Ken Brockelman who you'll hear in this ShortTake, is also enjoying a long, Memorial Day weekend.

As with other ShortTakes, I have the audio you can listen to and slides you can click through.  To listen to the audio, head over to the full blog post.

HP RDX Removable Disk Backup System ShortTake

We've had a couple of blog posts about the HP RDX Removable Disk Backup System  recently from the RDX team. I like the new ShortTake format I have because all I have do to is a little post production so I wanted to share with you the RDX ShortTake from the team.  Here's the ShortTake.

Meet the new HP Storage D3000 Disk Enclosure

I had said I was done with HP Global Partner Conference blog posts and technical I am!  We are always updating products and working on new ones - and when we do an announcement like we did at GPC, we just can't talk about everything.  One of the things that quietly made it's way on to hp.com without any fanfare was our HP Storage D3000 Disk Enclosures.

I asked Pushkala Atri to do a ShortTake to give an introduction to this new family of disk enclosures and today I want to share it with you.  Here's a brief introduction to the D3000 (from the data sheet):

The HP D3000 Disk Enclosures are ideal for your small application environments, remote offices, and departmental locations. The new 12 Gb SAS enclosures—large form factor (LFF) D3600 Disk Enclosure with 12 drive bays and small form factor (SFF) D3700 Disk Enclosure with 25 drive bays—offer flexible, modular solutions to simplify capacity expansion of HP ProLiant and BladeSystem server environments and MSA arrays (SFF only) to external storage without having to make the full move to SAN or NAS. This allows you to buy what is needed today and purchase additional capacity as your data storage needs grow.
