HP TechCast on Microsoft Windows Server 2012 announcement
Last week, Microsoft announced Windows Server 2012; Just after the Microsoft's web event, my HP TechCast co-host Jeffery Powers and I had a panel of Microsoft experts to discuss the announcement. On the HP TechCast were:
- John Obeto (@johnobeto) - John blogs at www.absolutelywindows.com and is the CEO of Logikworx a managed service provider that heavily utilizes Microsoft technology.
- Jason Lopez (@jaylpz07) - I met Jason at the Nth Generation Symposium and he is focused on Microsoft-based solutions. He's also looking to start a blog soon.
- Hans Vredevoort (@hvredevoort). Hans blogs at www.hyper-v.nu and is a Microsoft MVP.
You can also download or listen to the podcast on Jeffery's website. The discussion we had was interesting and given the expertise of the panel, well worth your time. You can also check out the other videos, and podcast I have focused on Windows Server 2012.

New podcast - HP TechCast from SNW
I've been working with Jeffery Powers (@Geekazine on Twitter and his blog is www.geekazine.com) on doing a podcast. The idea we had was to gather some industry bloggers and do a roundtable discussion.
If you're interested in joining a future podcast as a blogger guest, email geekazine@gmail.com or send a tweet to @geekazine or @HPStorageGuy. We're targeting a monthly podcast for now but who knows what we'll be doing in a year from now. If you have topics you'd like us to cover, you can send us those too.
In episode 1, our guests were:
- Ray Lucchesi – Silverton Consulting
- Howard Marks – Deep storage test lab
- Rick Vanover – IT Pro Blogger at Rickatron
We were planning on getting on Skype at SNW but a few tornadoes blew through and interrupted that plan. But the show must go - and so I'm happy to point you to our first HP TechCast. While Jeff wasn't able to actively participate, he'll co-host our future editions of HP TechCast.
We talked about what we saw at SNW, especially a lot of talk about the show itself, SSD, cloud, big data and a lot more topics of interest.
Here's where you can find Episode 1, on geekazine.com or you can download it (right click and save the file). Note that it's 34.3MB and about 37 minutes long.
