HP LeftHand demo videos - clickable links in a YouTube video
I saw a video on YouTube a few days ago where someone had listed other videos in a YouTube video - they were basically clickable links that would open and play the videos shown in the video playing. I love to find new ways to make it easier to find information that helps you understand HP Storage.
I started playing around with the idea and figured out how to do it. I'm not a professional video editor so I haven't figured out how to use video inside of my video - instead I have images of each video that you can click on and it will open that video. Here's my first attempt at it - this is a video summarizing the recent HP LeftHand P4000 demo videos I've done, covering four topics. Check it out and let me know what you think.
I'm guessing this is best viewed directly on YouTube so check out the video there.

New HP LeftHand Recovery Manager - file recovery made easy!
I get to announce a new product to you today and I have a short podcast and a video demo to help you get the details.
The new solution is called HP LeftHand Recovery Manager. Recovery Manager is a wizard driven software product that saves you time and effort to recover files from Windows snapshots. Recovery Manager helps you to find the snapshots, determine how many you want to keep available and then find files you want to recover. I have a short podcast (about 4 minutes) explaining what Recovery Manager can do and a video demo (about 7 minutes).

A partner's story: building a private cloud
A few weeks ago on Twitter I saw a partner talking about some testing they had done on the P4000. I invited Nuno Fernandes to write a guest post here on ATSB talking about what they had done. Nuno works in Malta for Systetec, an HP partner, and was putting together a solution similar to our HP VirtualSystem but at a bit smaller scale for the market his company serves in Malta. I thought this was interesting - so visit this article to read what Nuno did.
VMware vSphere Metro Storage Cluster certification podcast
I literally just walked in the door from being in Las Vegas at an HP Storage marketing meeting with over 200 of the best storage marketing team anywhere. It was an excellent few days and I may talk more about that soon but I wanted to get this podcast out.
While in Las Vegas, I had Eric Siebert (blogger at vSphere-land.com and our VMware solution manager in HP Storage) and Brad Katz (HP LeftHand software product manager) to join me to talk about the vSphere Metro Storage Cluster (vMSC) certification and impending certification of the P4000.

HP LeftHand P4000 Peer Motion demo
I really enjoyed doing the hands on I'll show you today. I used Peer Motion software to do a cluster swap and volume migration. As I was doing this I thought it would be awesome so have a video playing on the volume that was part of the cluster swap or volume migration - so you can see that this happened without impacting the "users" - in this case me.
First a little background on Peer Motion
There's a new white paper about Peer Motion that is almost finished - so instead of me trying to be creative in talking about it, here's an excerpt from the paper:
Peer Motion is HP’s data migration technology which offers HP LeftHand users two simple and flexible methods of moving data volumes within a LeftHand SAN. Those methods are volume migration and cluster swap. Volume Migration and Cluster Swap employ storage federated software, to transparently move application workloads between tiers of data storage and/or storage clusters in a LeftHand environment. Peer Motion on HP LeftHand supports all P4000 storage models - spanning from the P4000 Virtual SAN Appliance (VSA) to the midrange and high performance P4000 storage systems.

HP LeftHand P4000 Centralized Management Console (CMC) demo
Yesterday I had a screen capture video of me using our new Zero to VSA feature to create six HP LeftHand VSA nodes. Today, I have more video of me using the P4000 Centralized Management Console (CMC) to do a few things with those six VSA's. By the way, what I show today would be the same thing you'd do if you were using a hardware based P4000 (like a P4300 or P4500).

HP LeftHand Zero to VSA demo
One of the things I like to do is play with our gear and show you. Those blog post and videos tend to be pretty popular. With the help of our Technical Marketing guys (thanks Chris!), I was able to get a hold of everything I needed to play around with our HP LeftHand P4000. I have a number of videos that I'll show you over the next week or so. Whether you have a P4000 or not, I think you'll find what I have got interesting.
