More on the HP StoreOnce Catalyst and Veeam Integration

Last year at VeeamOn, I jokingly asked a Veeam exec when would we have StoreOnce Catalyst support with Veeam. I got a sly smile in response and I knew what that meant!

The wait is over!

I won't spend a lot of time talking about what this means for our customers - Srik covered that very well in a post he did last week titled Veeam integrates with HP StoreOnce Catalyst to deliver enhanced data protect. I want to share a short video with my friend at Veeam Rick Vanover - the Rickatron! I took a break from being a one man band with my videos and drafted Radhika Mitra to interview Rick. It's a short video but they do a great job describing the benefits of this integration.

Advancing the data protection your agile, virtualized data center really needs

As long-time technology partners, HP and Veeam have one goal: to enhance and deliver data protection for virtual environments that really works. Veeam integration with HP 3PAR StoreServ and StoreVirtual snapshots has been available for many years. You might want to check out this blog with an in-depth demo on HP and Veeam integration designed to protect virtual environments.  Today we take another significant step in advancing data protection with the announcement of Veeam Availability Suite v9 with HP StoreOnce Catalyst. Before we get into the specifics of the integration, let’s take a step back to understand why good data protection is crucial as data centers become more agile and virtualized.

SAP HANA Data Protection: Predictability in a world filled with uncertainties

By Srikanth Venkataseshu, Senior Marketing Manager, Backup, Recovery and Archive Solutions, HP Storage   @srikseshu

For most customers, the journey for SAP HANA usually starts with a sidecar implementation, then graduates to Business Warehouse (BW) workloads, before eventually moving to ERP, CRM applications—or, in other words, Suite on HANA (S/4 HANA).

HP has made strategic investment in HANA and we have several HANA-optimized Converged System appliances to help accelerate time-to-deployment of these systems along with best practices and years of expertise designing and deploying these systems. And at SAPPHIRE in May, we announced modern data protection for SAP HANA with the introduction of new HP StoreOnce plug-in for SAP HANA. The plug-in is a HANA BackInt agent installed directly on SAP HANA nodes which enables direct streaming backups to StoreOnce deduplication appliance. This BURA Sunday, I’m breaking down the benefits of StoreOnce plug-in.

Enhancements to HP StoreOnce announced at HP Discover

The last few days at Discover were incredibly busy.  I think I was involved in creating 6 videos and a couple of podcasts.  I didn't get to tell you about the news with HP StoreOnce so while I have a short layover at SFO on my way home from Frankfurt, here are a couple of videos that give you the story.

Storage strategy focus with HP Storage chief and Intel

P1100287sm.jpgI have two things to share with you today.  In our Blogger Lounge at HP Discover, the invited bloggers have many opportunities to hear from HP executives and technical experts in our "coffee talks".  We held a coffee talk with the David Scott, Sr. VP and GM of HP Storage and Milan Shetti, CTO of HP Storage.  David and Milan spent about an hour with the bloggers answering their questions.
