L2 Cache for Presario 4808

I have a Compaq Presario 4808 I can't part with. I added RAM to it but then found that to manage that memory it needs an L2 cache. The $10 million question is WHERE can one be found? A Compaq part number may also help my search.

Re: L2 Cache for Presario 4808

L2 cache is a memory chip that resides adjacent to the processor on the old motherboards and built-in on the newer processors. By newer, I only mean newer than the old way...L2 cache on the processor dates back several years. Initally, only L1 cache was built onto the processor, but sometime around the advent of the Pentium Pro, L2 started appearing on the processor. You can't just buy it and install it. Either it's on there or it isn't.
