Eith the consumerization of IT and mobility trends, TCO seems to be frequently mentioned, but in the context of industry norms. Does the drive by TCO without end user or business specific data really tell the story?
Many organizations use the term consumerization to mean many things. It is time that we define what exactly consumerization is and what to do about it.
The trend of BYOC is inescapable, to ignore it, would be the same as denial. Having said this, we need to be aware not to confuse the messages surrounding BYO trends with established, well known and understood principles. The next few blog postings will address what I believe are some ever growing myths surrounding BYOC as it exists today. This posting will address the cost aspect.
