HP Discover, the WoW factor
I can't believe that HP Discover in Las Vegas is already over. It went quick, very quick, and to be really honest, I feel exhausted, ready to take a long nap on the plane. It was really exciting to be able to talk to many of you, our customers and understand how you felt about how we have evolved over the last year.
Many of you told me you felt we had really moving forward. As one of you told me, you guys are getting it. With converged cloud, you have the vision that describes what I want for my business. An open environment giving me choice so I can deliver to the business what they need, agility, responsiveness at the right pricepoint.
Innovation was a key topic in many discussions. The HPLabs demo zone was highlighted repeatedly as the place to go and see where the industry was heading to. I have to admit I unfortunately did not find the time to go and see that myself, but rely on your excited feedback.
The other main discussion point was around how to get there, how to take the existing environment, applications, infrastructure and IT department, and move it to converged cloud. There is a recognition that many IT departments aren't there yet and the most pro-active of you are looking at transforming your teams to take full advantage of the evolution of the industry. Several told me they had the impression of having choosen the right partner, when deciding to go with HP.
If you're interested in the final comments of Paul Muller (@xthestreams), Raf Los (@wh1t3rabbit) and myself, take a moment to look at the final wrap-up video for HP Discover 2012 in Las Vegas.
So, all in all, very positive comments and a real feeling that we have moved the needle. There is still quite some work to do, but we're on the way.
See you all in Frankfurt in December.
