Compliance in Hybrid Cloud: the 5 CNIL recommendations
In the last blog entry we looked at shared responsibility between the service provider and the consumer of cloud services. I mentioned that data is persistent, and as a result one of the key elements to look at. Late last month, the CNIL, the french Data Protection Agency released recmmendations to enterprises wanting to subscribe to cloud computing services. The main document currently only being available in French, find here a summary of there proposals as well as a discussion on when a service provider becomes a data controller. CNIL have a clear and interesting view in this space.
7 areas of shared responsibility for public cloud security
In the last three blog posts I proposed 7 areas that need review when developing a cloud environment. I also discussed the end-to-end view and how we should look at the intersection points between those 7 areas. But what happens when setting up a converged cloud including services provided by external entities. This is where shared responsibility comes in. The end-to-end view is even more important in this case as we need to ensure all aspects are covered. In the present post, I discuss this in some more details. Give me your feedback.
