We are very proud to announce the latest Extreme IT Makeover for Mission Arlington – a ministry near Dallas, Texas that provides assistance of many kinds to folks in need in Arlington, TX. This time Coffee Coaching’s Extreme IT Makeover has additional sponsors; we are honored that Intel has joined with Hewlett Packard and Microsoft to bring this makeover to fulfillment and delighted that HTG Peer Groups was able to partner with us to uncover the charity and find the partner who donated their services: Networking Results, a longtime HTG member company based in Arlington, TX.
In conjunction with HTG’s 2012 Summit in Dallas, TX, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Intel, HTG and the Dallas based VAR- Networking Results came together to create the largest and most extensive Extreme IT Makeover of the series for Mission Arlington. This makeover took Mission Arlington from 8 separate servers some of which ran on PC Class machines to a Windows Microsoft Small Business Server Standard solution running on two HP ProLiant DL 360’s with Intel Xeon processors. They were also supplied new desktop and notebooks featuring Intel vPro Technology. .
Why have you heard of Arlington, TX? It was hit in early 2012 with an outbreak of tornadoes and Mission Arlington was at the heart of the efforts to help those affected. Mission Arlington became the Extreme IT Makeover candidate due to their ongoing efforts in the region. In order to understand how we could best help them, Networking Results conducted an IT assessment and interviewed Mission Arlington's IT technician to get his wish list. Then Matt Reid, the VAR's director of technical services, designed the new solution leveraging the best products and solutions available from HP, Microsoft and Intel.
During early May over 100 volunteers, who were also attendees at the HTG 2012 Summit, joined HP, Microsoft and Intel at Mission Arlington as the Extreme Makeover of the IT infrastructure was revealed. Tillie Burgin the Executive Director of Mission Arlington was thrilled, “This makeover allows us, a non-profit, to have the same resources as a bigger for profit business. It allows our information to be safe, it allows us easier and faster access to our information, and it allows us to work more efficiently to better serve the community.” Coffee Coaching’s Mission Arlington Extreme IT Makeover was a resounding success and we look forward to seeing the benefits that the new technology will bring to their ministry.
