Urban ArtWorks is the next Coffee Coaching - Extreme IT Makeover

The Extreme IT Makeover has selected its next recipient! Coffee Coaching, the joint HP and Microsoft program, in association with Intel, is delighted to announce Urban ArtWorks as the next Extreme IT Makeover recipient with Arterian as the partner. Urban ArtWorks is a Seattle based, small, not for profit organization that works to empower young people with professional opportunities in the arts.

Since their founding in1995, Urban ArtWorks programs have fostered a new sense of self-esteem, self-motivation, and self-sufficiency for over 5,000 youth.. They have done this through the creation of public art murals, completing over 400 murals since their founding. Urban ArtWorks helps to beautify the city, while providing positive engagement for at-risk and adjudicated youth. Through the youth’s involvement in Urban ArtWorks’ programs, they are given an opportunity to complete their first job experience, earn their own wages, begin to pay off any court ordered restitution owed to their victims, and become contributing members of, and artists in, their community.

The Extreme IT Makeover is a joint program between Microsoft, HP, and Intel. It was created to help small, not-for-profit businesses advance their mission by improving their business technology. Urban ArtWorks will receive a brand new IT solution, designed and installed by Jamison West, Founder and CEO of Arterian, with hardware and software donated by HP, Microsoft, and Intel. Part of this makeover will include Windows Server 2012 Essentials on a HP ProLiant Server, HP laptops and desktops powered by Intel vPro technology that the budding artists can use for research and design, and many other great IT improvements.
