A PC experience anywhere

HP has revolutionized the delivery of multimedia rich desktop experiences from the data center with the HP ConvergedSystem 100 for Hosted Desktop Infrastructure (HDI). Built on the game-changing HP Moonshot moonshot_Nov 2013.pngplatform, the ConvergedSystem 100 for HDI can deliver an experience almost identical to that of a PC to any network connected device including tablets, PCs and thin clients.

The ConvergedSystem 100 for HDI achieves this powerful outcome by removing the hypervisor virtualization layer and allowing users direct access to hardware, with no sharing. HP has effectively shrunk the compute, storage and graphics processing of four mid-specification laptops into around the same physical space of a paperback book. This means that you can host 180 media rich desktops for each 4.3U chassis – that’s over 1,000 media rich desktops per rack, complete with HP Moonshot’s signature power and cooling excellence.

Deploying any client virtualization technology can be a complex undertaking, stretching even the most competent of IT departments. The technology stack crosses many disciplines as well as involving end user experience. Throw into the mix the innovative new Moonshot technologies on which the ConvergedSystem 100 for HDI is based and it can begin to feel like the risk of deployment is increasing.

HP Technology Services Consulting can help you mitigate this risk. We have a global pool of consultants ready to deliver not only the hardware deployment but also the integration of the full stack of related technologies such as Citrix XenDesktop and Windows Deployment Services.

HP recently launched the ConvergedSystem 100 for HDI Advanced Startup Service which can deliver all of the components required by the ConvergedSystem 100 for HDI to deliver a functioning HDI solution using a vanilla Windows 7 image - typically in under 10 days. HP consulting experts can configure the Moonshot hardware and networking components, deploy Citrix XenDesktop and Provisioning Services, deploy and configure Windows Deployment Services and deploy vanilla Windows 7 images to each of the desktop nodes in your HDI environment. This service is offered as a fixed price, fixed scope engagement allowing us to rapidly engage and get the system up and running as quickly as possible.

HP can further support you with HP Advanced Client Virtualization Services (ACVS) which are delivered as a custom offering and could include custom Windows image design, application integration and network optimization. This approach ensures that the system can be tailored to your organization’s specific requirements once the baseline has been established.
