Accelerate your business with HP Unified Communications Solutions for Microsoft Lync

By TerryAnn Fitzgerald – HP Networking

I just celebrated my third anniversary of working from home.   Initially the adjustment was difficult,  but since my team is distributed across the globe, sitting in an on-site office all day just didn’t make sense.  Instead, I now enjoy a view of the woods from my office window and spend my lunchtime taking my dog for a walk (a healthy break for both of us).  I find I’m more productive and focused because my life is far more balanced despite the fact that I actually work longer hours.

None of this would have been possible without the tools I have at my disposal. I can ping a co-worker for information, instantly share and collaborate on documents, make a call or video conference at the touch of a button.  I can stay connected and respond to co-workers when I am on the road.  It means less stress because I no longer feel I am “missing” something important or rushing to catch up when I return to the office.

Embracing UC&C

Many of our small and mid-size businesses are planning to provide this same access to unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) tools to improve the productivity of their teams and as a means to reduce cost.  Their employees are more mobile than ever, but with limited staff and budgets, they need to make every minute and dollar count.  Their staff can’t afford to be disconnected from company information and co-workers – no matter where they are.

If you’re one of our SMB-focused channel partners, this is a great opportunity to get in on the growing demand for UC&C solutions.  IDC forecasts the five-year CAGR for UC&C services at16%.  The same report indicates that companies plan to deploy UC&C technology to enhance interactions between and among workers for productivity purposes.  These companies are also leveraging the technology to enhance key business processes and applications such as:

  • Conducting diagnostic procedures in healthcare
  • Distance learning in education
  • Online access to experts in banking and finance
  • Video kiosks in retail operations
  • Business-to-business commerce among customers, clients and partners(1)

Accelerate your business

To help you get a jumpstart, we just released the latest version of the HP Unified Communication Solution Reference Architecture for Microsoft Lync 2013.   This RA development was based on tested, validated and virtualized architecture that supports 2500+ users for Microsoft Lync 2013.  It will help you to speed time to revenue, increase profitability and expand your business with new customer opportunities and differentiated service offerings.

Your customers will be pleased to see how this UC solution can:

  • Simplify their data center through consolidation and integration of voice, video, and collaboration applications
  • Drive down costs by allowing them to create virtual meetings that reduce travel and migrating off expensive legacy systems like PBX and audio conferencing systems
  • Protect investments by integrating voice with their existing business applications and processes/presence

The HP networking solution enhances the benefits of the Lync 2013 Reference Architecture by creating a modern network infrastructure that offers your customers superior call quality, reliable operations and support for multi-media traffic demands.  Their workers can communicate securely anywhere they have reliable HP Networking connectivity, using whatever Lync-approved device you prefer.
