Delivering enterprise class business intelligence to SMB customers via unique HP AppSystems

It’s a competitive world and it’s getting ever more so. It’s never been more important to use your organization’s data to effectively meet that competition head on, especially when it comes to generating insight into customers. 

 

In the past, however, business intelligence solutions have either been too costly for many SMB customers, or trying to integrate the different aspects of BI (from data warehousing through to analytical tools) has been too complex.  Even when tools have been available, they have often been niche and unfamiliar and this has deterred users from making use of them to drive business decisions.

 

To help address these shortcomings, HP announced (on June 21st) a complete business intelligence solution for SMB customers, bringing together two unique appliances, jointly developed by HP and Microsoft for the HP AppSystem portfolio.   The combination of the HP Business Decision Appliance and the HP Business Data Warehouse means that enterprise class business intelligence is now available to SMB customers and ready to run right out of the box.  

 

With the HP Business Decision Appliance, end users can rapidly create and share insight from analysis into critical business data through familiar tools, including Microsoft’s PowerPivot add-in for Microsoft Excel and SharePoint 2010.  Because it fuses HP Converged Infrastructure with the leading BI tools from Microsoft, and it features tailored installation and deployment tools, it can be deployed into existing infrastructure in less than an hour.  It also features a dashboard that allows IT to centrally manage the solution to improve availability, consistency and security of data.

 

In combination with the HP Business Data Warehouse Appliance, SMB customers can now easily link their business intelligence right through to the data warehouse, with a solution that supports up to 5TB of data in a pre-configured, optimized single enclosure.  This is ideal for customers with limited database administrator expertise.

 

The HP Business Data Warehouse Appliance rapidly delivers a “single version of the truth” i.e. one consolidated view of all of an organization’s data, which can then be analyzed effectively, without customers being concerned that they have incomplete or out of date information for their business.

 

Deploying these two dedicated appliances in harmony, customers benefit from the interoperability of the Microsoft Business Intelligence platform, and have a complete, tested and trusted solution which can help them accelerate business decision making and better capitalize on opportunities.
