HP Cloud Maps for Oracle presented at Oracle OpenWorld
Authored by Carolyn Campbell & Kristie Popp
In the HP booth theater at Oracle Open World last week, Carolyn Campbell presented the HP Cloud Maps for Oracle. HP currently has four Cloud Maps for Oracle:
:
- Oracle Real Application Cluster Cloud Map
- Oracle Single Instance Database Cloud Map
- Oracle PeopleSoft Human Capital Management Cloud Map
- Oracle Fusion Middleware Cloud Map
Carolyn highlighted her work on the Cloud Map for Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC). This Cloud Map provides templates, workflows, scripts, sample deployment jobs and whitepapers that customers can use to deploy Oracle 11gR2 RAC on Linux. The workflows included in this Cloud Map do the pre-configuration of the environment, preparing it for RAC installation by setting up the networking, adding Domain Name System (DNS) entries, preparing the shared storage, and creating response files. Once this preparation is complete, the Cloud Map workflows perform a silent installation of Oracle Grid and Database software. The whitepapers included in the Cloud Map describe how customers can import the template and workflows and modify them to match their environment.
