HP Discover Green IT session line up - day 3
If you haven't read my first two blog posts, this year at HP Discover, we have a track dedicated to all things green. These sessions are designed to provide valuable information on how to optimize IT rack infrastructure, power and cooling, data center services, design and build for energy optimization and modular data center solutions. Some great sessions you might want to attend on Thursday, June 7, are:
Green IT: How HBSC and HP use IT solutions to solve environmental challenges and save money: Learn how HSBC and HP have both used technology for efficient and ethical solutions to business needs, significantly reducing IT costs. Bill Thomas, Group Head HTS Sustainability at HSBC and John Frey, HP’s Americas Environmental Executive, will discuss how IT solutions have solved environmental challenges at both companies and provide ideas for how your company can benefit from these best practices. Session BB3204 takes place 10-1045 am.
End to End POD deployments – Fact or Fiction? The EcoPOD won’t be making an appearance at Discover this year, but luckily our experts will be to discuss the ease of deploying performance optimized data centers, including impact of worldwide climate conditions, critical factors to consider when deploying this type of solution, supporting equipment and services, implementation specifics, and the differences between a containerized deployment vs. traditional brick and mortar. Session TB2742 runs 11:15 – noon.
Data center infrastructure management: HP's approach to capacity planning and power: Future DCIM frameworks should be designed to enable a common, real-time monitoring and management platform for all interdependent systems across IT and facility infrastructures. In this session, we will discuss the benefits of this framework within converged infrastructure environments to completely integrate servers, storage, networking, security, management and data center facilities. Session TB2193 starts at 1:30 Thursday afternoon.
See you in Vegas!
