Converged Infrastructure

Hot solutions, great sessions and new records from HP at Microsoft Management Summit (MMS) 2013

By Jeff Carlat – Director, HP Industry Standard Servers Software

I’m pleased to tell you that once again HP will be a Platinum sponsor at the Microsoft Management Summit (MMS) and will be showcasing how HP can provide you the infrastructure, solutions and support you need for Your Journey, to Your Cloud, Your Way.

Hot solutions: Jointly designed with Microsoft

This year HP will showcase optimized solutions with fast time to value and improved ROI with the complete portfolio of joint virtualization and private cloud offerings.  This is all based on HP’s Converged Infrastructure innovation and Microsoft’s Windows Server with Hyper-V and System Center management tools.

The portfolio of joint offerings include:

  • HP Departmental Private Cloud Reference Architecture for Microsoft, which is fast to implement,  highly available and ideal for SMB or remote/branch offices
  • HP Cloud Solution for Microsoft which is Microsoft Fast Track compliant and offers flexible configurations to meet the needs of large enterprise customers.
  • HP’s robust Client Virtualization solutions with Microsoft to support an increasing mobile workforce while addressing all the business challenges such as maintaining compliance, controlling costs, minimize user downtime, while ensuring all confidential corporate data is secure.
  • And the portfolio wouldn’t be complete without our innovative HP StoreSystem with Windows System 2012.

We’re also very focused on providing simplified IT management to increase efficiency and speed application deployment.  HP will demonstrate this with the latest version of HP Insight Control for System Center which delivers comprehensive system health, configuration management and remote control, as well as flexible deployment in one easy to install package.

In addition, HP will also be introducing a new Cloud Map to enable immediate provisioning of infrastructure that can be flexed by HP CloudSystem Matrix and managed through System Center. Some really cool stuff on display!

HP will also be demonstrating the HP Client Integration Kit for Microsoft System Center 2012 SP1, as well as showcasing SCCM-based products for CMIT.  And HP will also demonstrate HP Storage tight integration with System Center 2012 which results in full control and simplified management of the entire Microsoft virtualized environment.

So come on by to HP Booth #301 on the Solutions Expo to learn more about HP’s offerings for Microsoft Private Cloud and HP Technology Consulting and Support Services to address the entire Microsoft solution lifecycle, from initial strategy services through planning, design, implementation, integration and ongoing management, for solutions based on key Microsoft technologies.

Great Sessions: Private Cloud Management and Serverquarium Unwrapped

HP will be presenting in two key sessions.

1                     HP Private Cloud Management with System Center

Monday, April 8th, from 2:00-3:30pm with Doug Dewerd and Amit Kumar from HP

Here you will learn how to simplify the management of HP infrastructure in a Microsoft Hyper-V environment leveraging HP’s innovative integration with Microsoft System Center 2012. We will demo and highlight new features that take advantage of SCVMM 2012 SP1 for managing HP Converged Infrastructure, show the HP integrations for SCOM that provide health monitoring and alerting for HP servers, storage, and Virtual Connect, and reveal  the new HP Departmental Cloud Reference Architecture, specifically targeted to medium-sized business or branch office environments.

2                     Serverquarium Unwrapped

Wednesday, April 10th, from 10:15-11:30am with Paul Gavin from HP

The HP Cloud Solution for Microsoft that powers MMS Hands on Labs.  Here you will get a look under the hood to learn how HP delivered this highly available virtualization solution with HP Converged Infrastructure, Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and System Center based on HP VirtualSystem technologies – simply and easily sized to meet the specific workload of powering the very dynamic and high available MMS Hands on Lab.

I’ll be there, along with Jeff Wolsey from Microsoft to kick off this session and you’ll get more information from Paul Gavin from HP and other key folks who installed and deployed this solution at MMS.

New records: HP Cloud Solution for Microsoft at the Serverquarium

Last but not least is that HP is also the sole sponsor of what we call the ‘Serverquarium’.  This will allow attendees to get up close and personal with this Microsoft Cloud OS solution and see just how easy an HP/Microsoft private cloud is to deploy.  The showcase brings to life how the entire MMS IT and networking infrastructure is deployed over a period of 3 days.

The solution is built on HP Cloud Solution for Microsoft, which is based on best in class HP Converged Infrastructure with HP VirtualSystem technologies and Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V and Systems Center 2012 SP1, and powers the MMS 2013 Hands on Labs

So come on by and get an expert guided tour of this private-cloud ready solution.  Let’s break last year’s record - come and see if we can beat the 52,000 VMs that we provisioned last year! The Serverquarium is open through the conference at the Hub, from 9am to 6pm from Monday through Wednesday, and from 8am to 11am on Thursday.

Keep an eye on the Twitter feed too at #serverquarium and we'll update you on the record.
