Converged Infrastructure
Drive the New Style of IT with HP Converged Infrastructure. Old networking, storage, servers and security silos come together into a simply-managed, business-oriented datacenter.

How IT convergence will drive your next wave of IT

Whether you physically attended Discover or virtually participated, you heard about a “new style of IT” and how Converged Infrastructure is a necessary foundation.  In breakout sessions as well as hands on labs, HP clearly demonstrated Converged Infrastructure innovations and products and shared the direction HP sees IT convergence headed.  Take advantage of the plethora of great tools, presentations (on-demand), and videos to share with your colleagues.

A video, I highly recommend is, Converged Infrastructure for the new style of IT with Stephen DeWitt, Senior Vice President HP Enterprise Marketing.  Stephen shares his passion for the new style of IT and the critical role applications have in defining IT.  No longer do you need to “stitch IT together” due to the server silos, networking silos, and storage silos of the past.   Applications are at the core and are simpler than before, require more speed, are impacted by the power of data, and don’t always require a technical understanding.

I appreciate a good analogy to help really understand a new idea or topic and Stephen doesn’t disappoint.     His examples – from Captain Kirk and Spock “beam me up”  to water from a hose, fire hydrant, or kitchen sink—get his idea across clearly and simply.      As Stephen says -- One size “IT” does not fit all applications.

Explore why HP Converged Infrastructure and HP Converged Systems are key to this new style of IT.

This only goes to show how IT revolution is coming out of its shell and surprising everyone who choose to indulge in the new wate of innovation and technology.  I agree, we need not to be technical most of the time, there are certains ways where we can adopt without relying so much on silos etc..
