How do I select the right virtualized environment for my organization?

With several options in the market for delivering virtual and cloud environments, we have some thoughts from our experts on how you should go about making your choice.

 

Brent Allen, WW Product Manager for HP Converged Systems gives a detailed explanation of some of the issues that customers may face, and some options from HP to solve them in this video.

 

Brent explains how HP CloudSystem optimized for partner cloud is designed to reduce the complexity of building and managing cloud solutions, and delivers faster time to value for customers.  He also talks about HP Cloud Maps and how these help customers deliver applications in their cloud environments with optimized performance and service levels in dramatically reduced timescales.

 

We think there are many things that make HP stand out in the market today for virtual and cloud environments (of course :smileyhappy:) and we've summarised three key areas that we believe should influence your choice:

 

1.  We  meet customers' application delivery needs through a common modular architecture, common management and common security model.  Our architecture is based on HP Converged Infrastructure, which comprises best in class server, storage, networking and management and leads to simplicity, flexibility and investment protection for customers.
 
2.  Because our solutions are modular and scalable, customers can enter at any point, tackle their top priorities immediately and know they have a clear path to expand and integrate with future application demands.  They can solve their virtualization issues today and know they are cloud ready tomorrow.
 
3.  We are one company with a broad partner ecosystem (including VMware, Microsoft and Red Hat for virtualization architectures) and expertise across compute, storage, networking and management that is proven over decades.  Customers don’t have to gamble with their future application and cloud initiatives.

He is also at the helm for Converged Infrastructure for the Small and Midmarket Business for HP’s Enterprise Business Group. Campbell brings more than 25 years of enterprise and midmarket industry marketing experience to this leadership team, with a proven track record spanning software, networking, services, PCs and systems, as well as deep channel and regional expertise. Campbell’s prior appointments were vice president of marketing for Adaptive Infrastructure and prior to that, the vice president of marketing for HP StorageWorks. He was responsible for advancing the market position of HP’s storage area network, network-attached storage, information life cycle management, near-line and storage management software offerings through both direct and indirect channels for small, midsize and enterprise customers. Prior to joining the HP StorageWorks team, Campbell was vice president of marketing and business development for First Virtual Communications, a world leader in providing easy-to-use, integrated rich media communications solutions. Before that, he was the principal and a founding member of Adjunct Consulting, where he helped incubate a SAN-management-over-IP startup and developed transformational business strategies for his other client companies. Campbell was formerly with HP from 1986 to 2001 in various marketing director roles spanning workstations, software, networking, PC servers and Intel servers. He also served as worldwide director of marketing for channels, alliances and partners. He also holds a Masters Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Chartered Marketer.
