Last Fall, HP introduced an innovative converged infrastructure management platform, HP OneView. HP has a proud tradition of innovation, and we’ve listened to our customers. They tell us they are excited about the great advantages of HP OneView, because it offers an integrated approach with unified management for server, storage, and networking. It provides the foundation for the future, and it delivers benefits today. HP OneView marks one of the transition points to what we call, “the new style of IT”.

graphic1_OneView25klicenses.pngAfter 9 months we have reached an exciting milestone. HP OneView has now sold over 25,000 licenses to approximately 700 customers in more than 75 countries, with the help of over 250 channel partners that have proactively promoted and supported HP OneView.

Our customers and partners helped us reach this milestone, because they see real business benefits from HP OneView. Here are some examples:

  • Bechtle, an HP partner in Europe, successfully implemented HP OneView as part of a recent project at a customer who is a global player in the aerospace business. They demonstrated HP OneView's converged approach to manage HP BladeSystem, HP Virtual Connect, and HP storage. It has proven to be very effective in helping them win new business.
  • A US health care company with worldwide operations adopted HP OneView. They are leveraging the powerful Rest API capabilities to integrate with their existing tools to automate the lifecycle management of their infrastructure.
  • A large service provider based in Germany purchased HP OneView for their test environment to manage their BL660’s, 3PAR storage and VMware. They were so impressed with the functionality and usability of HP OneView that they decided to use it in production as well.

graphic 2_OneView25klicenses.pngThis innovative converged management platform serves as an automation hub to integrate and enhance the efficiency of other management tools from our strategic partners, HP and third parties. This includes out-of-the-box integrations with VMware vCenter, Microsoft System Center, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization and OpenStack. It’s not surprising that customers from manufacturing and distribution industries were responsible for purchasing more than 50% of the 25,000 licenses, because they easily grasped the advantages of HP OneView.

With the newest release, customers can now easily discover storage arrays and storage pools, create storage volumes, and automate the zoning of volumes to BL servers via server profiles. They can also understand how server, network and storage resources are connected via MapView. They can now manage HP ProLiant DL Gen8 servers using server profiles, manage Virtual Connect native fibre channel module and the new Virtual Connect 20/40 F8 module, as well as take advantage of new integrations for VMware vCenter Operations Manager (vCOPs) and Microsoft System Center.
