New HP Converged Systems accelerate enterprise agility

Traditional IT is at the breaking point today.  Trends like consumerization and cloud computing are driving growing demands for speed and scale that existing technologies and delivery models can’t support.  It can take months to roll out a new application environment, without any guarantee of success, and IT struggles with the complexity of integrating, optimizing and maintaining these environments, often failing to complete projects on time, on spec and on budget

 

That’s why I’m excited to tell you that on June 6th 2011, HP announced a new portfolio of Converged Systems, designed to deliver the fastest time to application value—and time to business success. They simplify the deployment and optimization of application environments by integrating hardware, software, and services into turnkey solutions.

 

This converged approach enables our customers to quickly harness the full potential of virtualization, cloud, and next-generation applications, such as real-time analytics. It also helps accelerate the consolidation of legacy applications, data, and infrastructure.

 

The HP Converged Systems portfolio includes three categories of solutions designed for today’s application needs: HP AppSystems, HP CloudSystem, and HP VirtualSystem. 

 

Each of the systems in this portfolio is a complete solution that is tested, integrated, optimized, and scalable. And each is built on HP Converged Infrastructure leveraging common components, management, orchestration, security, power discovery, and HP Solution Support

 

Within the HP AppSystem portfolio we are announcing new solutions on June 6th as follows:

 

  • The HP Vertica Analytics System takes analytics to the next level and allows organizations to process and analyze massive amounts of data from any source in real-time to accelerate business decisions.  Customers can load data significantly faster than traditional databases and scale to hundreds of nodes and petabytes of data efficiently without performance degradation.  It delivers query performance 50x–1000x the competition and load rates >2x of the closest competitor!  Customers can immediately and accurately predict trends while uniquely differentiating products and services.  

 

 

  • The HP Database Consolidation Solution enables consolidation of thousands of transactional databases into a single, virtual environment to simplify database management with SQL server and reduce the cost of operations.

We also have some existing solutions which are included within the HP AppSystems portfolio:

 

  • The HP Business Decision Appliance is the first self service SQL-based Business Intelligence appliance that empowers business users to accelerate analysis and decision making from months to days.

 

 

Our HP VirtualSystem portfolio is expected to begin shipping in Q4 2011.  It is complemented by the new HP Client Virtualization Reference Architecture for Enterprise and the HP Mission Critical Virtualization Reference Architecture. These tools can help our customers deploy virtualized systems more quickly, improve security and performance as well as reduce operating costs.

 

Our CloudSystem portfolio is available today in private, enterprise and service provider solutions.

He is also at the helm for Converged Infrastructure for the Small and Midmarket Business for HP’s Enterprise Business Group. Campbell brings more than 25 years of enterprise and midmarket industry marketing experience to this leadership team, with a proven track record spanning software, networking, services, PCs and systems, as well as deep channel and regional expertise. Campbell’s prior appointments were vice president of marketing for Adaptive Infrastructure and prior to that, the vice president of marketing for HP StorageWorks. He was responsible for advancing the market position of HP’s storage area network, network-attached storage, information life cycle management, near-line and storage management software offerings through both direct and indirect channels for small, midsize and enterprise customers. Prior to joining the HP StorageWorks team, Campbell was vice president of marketing and business development for First Virtual Communications, a world leader in providing easy-to-use, integrated rich media communications solutions. Before that, he was the principal and a founding member of Adjunct Consulting, where he helped incubate a SAN-management-over-IP startup and developed transformational business strategies for his other client companies. Campbell was formerly with HP from 1986 to 2001 in various marketing director roles spanning workstations, software, networking, PC servers and Intel servers. He also served as worldwide director of marketing for channels, alliances and partners.   • Hande has been with HP for over 10 years and held key consulting business and marketing roles based in New York and Boston US. Currently, she is the WW marketing lead for Cloud and Converged Infrastructure Consulting Services for HP Technology Consulting and living In Istanbul with her family. Hande enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, skiing and reading. Hande holds a M.B.A degree from Bentley College, MA.

  • Having joined HP in 2003 Ian Jagger is the world-wide marketing and program manager for HP Technology Consulting's Strategic Consulting Services, Critical Facilities Services and Energy and Sustainability Management Services, as well as emerging IT services Prior to his current role, he served as the HP Services Marketing Manager for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, having joined HP in a similar role in the Middle East. Prior to HP Jagger had a 15 year international sales career, culminating in being Sales and Marketing Director for Steelcase Inc addressing Northern Europe before focusing more specifically on marketing. His initial focus was consultancy and interim marketing management, primarily for small to mid-sized customers based or looking to expand in the Middle Eastern region. Immediately prior to joining HP he was a strategic marketing consultant addressing investment targets for a technology fund. Born in Rochdale, United Kingdom, Jagger holds an honors bachelor of science degree in economics and a degree in social psychology from Loughborough University, England.
