What do Captain America, Stan Lee and the amazing HP OneView have in common?

Stan Lee co-created superhero characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor and the Hulk to make Marvel Comic Books a hugely successful publishing house and great entertainment for a kid like me growing up in an otherwise boring small town. In the last few years, as chairman of the Marvel Comics multimedia conglomerate, Lee has gone on to bring these print characters to larger-than-life status in movies like the current Captain America: The Winter Soldier and build a blockbuster movie franchise. Those of us who grew up with these heroes are delighted to experience them again, but even more powerfully, in a different, more robust medium.

So how do you follow up a winner with another winner decades later? You build on your previous successes.

Stan Lee’s Marvel Comics evolution from comic books to blockbuster action movies makes me think of the evolution in HP infrastructure management---from the highly popular and industry leading Systems Insight Manager and Insight Control to the HP OneView management platform. HP OneView takes a fresh, people-centric approach to infrastructure management. Consumer-inspired, it’s all about how users interact with complex and highly dynamic systems. Tasks and collaboration are automated and streamlined, simplifying the management of both physical and virtual environments. It’s right for these times, and HP spent several years getting it right, using the experiences gleaned from customers using our systems management tools over the years.

IDC recently published an article, HP OneView Expected to Play Critical Role in Differentiating HP ConvergedSystems Sharks, describing HP’s evolution in infrastructure management tools. It notes that HP OneView provides an important, unified replacement for HP’s venerable management tools “that delivered important systems management and control capabilities historically but were not designed to support today’s converged and integrated environments and highly virtualized architectures.” It also points out how the HP OneView unified management platform will be a differentiator for HP’s new ConvergedSystem portfolio of pre-integrated, workload-optimized systems.

The article is an excellent read and illuminates why customers need to switch to infrastructure management tools that take full advantage of today’s technology advances and collaborative environments.  Check it out!
