Converged Systems at HP Discover Las Vegas - Day 2 Report

Day 2 at HP Discover saw a major focus on Converged Cloud with announcements for:

 

  • HP Converged Cloud Professional Services - a comprehensive portfolio of consulting services to help customers manage their cloud journeys and investments with an end-to-end lifecycle approach
  • HP CloudSystem Enterprise Starter Suite - a bundled offering providing a rapid, cost-effective way for customers to get started with private cloud

Tom Joyce, Senior VP and General Manager, discussed the role HP Converged Systems have in delivering Converged Cloud, and how customer requirements have evolved over the last four years to focus on a higher level of systems integration for key workloads, so IT departments can more rapidly deliver against business needs.  You can see more from Tom in the video below.

8,000 customers from 90 countries gathered together on Tuesday in Las Vegas to hear from HP about how our latest innovations are helping to shape the industry.

 

Meg Whitman’s main message on stage at the evening keynote was that HP’s driving ambition is to be the best company to partner with in the industry, for customers, ISV’s and solution providers.

 

For Converged Systems this is critical to everything we do, as we optimize systems in partnership with industry leading software vendors to deliver the best customer experience for Cloud, Virtualization, Big Data and Collaboration workloads, and this was the theme of the announcements we made at the outset of the show.

Campbell’s prior appointments were vice president of marketing for Adaptive Infrastructure and prior to that, the vice president of marketing for HP StorageWorks. He was responsible for advancing the market position of HP’s storage area network, network-attached storage, information life cycle management, near-line and storage management software offerings through both direct and indirect channels for small, midsize and enterprise customers. Prior to joining the HP StorageWorks team, Campbell was vice president of marketing and business development for First Virtual Communications, a world leader in providing easy-to-use, integrated rich media communications solutions. Before that, he was the principal and a founding member of Adjunct Consulting, where he helped incubate a SAN-management-over-IP startup and developed transformational business strategies for his other client companies. Campbell was formerly with HP from 1986 to 2001 in various marketing director roles spanning workstations, software, networking, PC servers and Intel servers. He also served as worldwide director of marketing for channels, alliances and partners. Currently, she is the WW marketing lead for Cloud and Converged Infrastructure Consulting Services for HP Technology Consulting and living In Istanbul with her family.
