Life in the Cloud: A Dialog on cloud computing for personal, business and government use

On May 19, representatives from business, government and think tanks joined HP to hear about what cloud computing is and how it works. The panelists discussed and demystified how people are using the cloud and what the policy implications are on Capitol Hill.

Panelists included Jeff Bergeron, chief technology officer of the U.S. Public Sector at HP, Rob Atkinson, founder and president of the Information Technology & Innovation Foundation and Karen Kerrigan, President and CEO of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council.

Bergeron was also recently named a commissioner on TechAmerica Foundation’s Commission on the Leadership Opportunity in U.S. Deployment of the Cloud (CLOUD2). The commission’s mandate is to provide the Obama Administration with recommendations for how government should deploy cloud technologies and guidelines for public policies to help drive U.S. innovation in the cloud.
