Application Transformation Roundup (Week of May 27, 2011)

Texting to keep a cattle roundup on trackHere’s your one-stop-shop for HP blog posts about application transformation and application rationalization for the week of May 22 - 27:

  • Great minds think alike when choosing an applications outsourcing provider: A top-ranked outsourcing adviser, Alsbridge, recently published a report that outlines 6 key questions CIO’s should ask before they sign on the dotted line with their chosen outsourcing provider. Interestingly enough, these questions are well-aligned with the Transition Management practices that HP subscribes to as well. Hear the details from HP’s Ashish Chitkara.

  • Take a look at the applications “Big Picture”: The effectiveness of your applications transformation, and its benefits, are directly related to how broad a view you can take of your IT environment. And that means you need to answer lots of questions! Check out this latest blog post from John Bennett with the questions and ways to find answers.

  • Aspects of IT modernization—Part 2: Not doing anything and avoiding change has costs. Most of these are common sense, but they are often overlooked when deciding whether to adopt IT modernization in a company. Evaluating the hidden costs may show that not changing is more expensive than maintaining your current environment.

I hope this roundup helps keep you up-to-date on the most current HP applications transformation discussions. Until next week, happy transformations and let me know if I missed any key discussions.
