HP Enterprise Services Helps Make ‘Cents’ of IRS IT systems
HP was recently selected as one of 33 prime contractors for technology-related services within the Internal Revenue Service and other Treasury bureaus to provide design, development, deployment operations and maintenance services to modernize IRS IT tax systems. As well, HP will offer IT solutions across several functional areas, including program management support, systems engineering and integration, cybersecurity, data management, software and applications development.
The IRS competed its long-time IT services-related suite of indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts, called TIPSS-4 ITS, which have a 10-year period of performance (one base-year and nine one-year options). The TIPSS-4 ITS contract is designed to provide the state of the art, modern technology services throughout the period of performance of the contract.
A total of 33 companies were selected as prime contractors on this multiple award contract. They will be providing support which encompasses a large spectrum of services concerning local microcomputer applications to large-scale integrated legacy systems, and newly developed systems, as well as security services and program management.
“Government agencies continually strive to enhance agility, mitigate project risks and improve operational efficiency,” said Dennis Stolkey, senior vice president, U.S. Public Sector, HP Enterprise Services. “The TIPSS-4 contract will help obtain a wide range of information technology support services needed to deliver fast and reliable access to the IRS and U.S. Department of the Treasury’s critical computing resources. As an ITS supplier, HP will enable the IRS to better maintain and upgrade their IT systems to meet the service needs of their constituents.”
HP has provided support services to U.S. government agencies for more than 45 years, building, integrating, securing and operating some of the most complex environments in the world, while enabling agency effectiveness, securing the exchange of information and ensuring citizen privacy.
