HP and United Airlines worked to integrate the passenger service systems for United and Continental
I recently posted about being one of those crazy holiday shoppers who can’t pass up a good deal but who also generally has no idea what goes on behind the scenes to make sure my shopping experience is a happy one.
Another similar situation is flying. And as the holiday season approaches, more of us will be hopping on a plane to get from Point A to Point B. We don’t really know what goes on behind the scenes. We just want to get where we are going as quickly and easily as possible.
Here is another great video that goes behind the scenes to show us what happens when two big airlines join together to form one really big airline. As HP Account Executive Dave Ricketts points out in the video, “Continental Airlines and United Airlines had one of every system. The goal was to consolidate down to a single system that would operate a single large airline.”
HP worked with United Airlines to integrate the passenger service systems for United and Continental Airlines to create one of the world's largest airlines. Following the merger, all the support systems had to be brought together within a few hours.
Watch the video and the next time you are flying (or shopping), you’ll have a better idea about what goes on behind the scenes to make it all possible.
