SAPPHIRENOW Session: Enabling Cloud Solutions for SAP: The Hybrid Delivery strategy for SAP
The SAP world-wide community is getting ready to invade Orlando, Florida for the annual SAPPHIRE conference starting this Sunday, May 15th. (Interesting that this is also the date for the half-Ironman competitions in Orlando - do you have to be an Ironman to implement SAP?)
I wanted to get a better understanding of the HP presentation that will be presented Tuesday, May 17th 3:00 – 3:40pm by Hans-Ulrich Schaller. Hans-Ulrich will join us in Orlando from Germany. He joined HP in 1985. . His background includes international business, sales, country marketing and Global SAP Alliance business.
The first question I asked him was his thoughts around defining Hybrid Delivery:
CIOs have a variety of sourcing options to choose from: traditional, private clouds and public clouds. To gain the benefits of a hybrid environment, enterprises must have an IT delivery model that is both flexible across different sourcing options and is managed as an integrated technology environment. Hybrid delivery enables transformation to the instant-on enterprise. The world is instant - your enterprise must be too - everything & everyone’s connected! Everyone expects immediate gratification & instant results and response to continuous opportunity & competition - Anywhere, Anytime, Any way!
Who should attend the session?
This session is a “business” session versus “technical”. The intent of the session to help strategize the path of transformation for your SAP environment to deploy a hybrid delivery model. Participants that influence or manage future investments such as; CIO, CTO and IT directors will leave the session with a clearer vision on where to start. Hans-Ulrich suggested we consider who should attend in terms of looking for a car – the question is what type or category of car are you looking for versus getting under the hood of the car to understand all the mechanics of the car.
What key points will you cover at this session & how can HP help?
Hans-Ulrich will start the presentation by identifying both the realities and IT constraints & what customers are looking for as the SAP environment transforms. One of the more important findings is the overall cost reduction of using a hybrid delivery model, and the comprehensive automation toolset, based on HP Cloud Service Automation software.
HP has a close collaborative partnership that spans more than 20 years with SAP. In April, 2011 it was announced that HP was among the first partners to become an SAP-certified global provider of cloud services in support of SAP solutions.
HP is offering customers the options to build their own private cloud solutions to run SAP, and solutions that provide you a choice of how you consume SAP. And to make the bridge between traditional IT, private cloud, and public cloud solutions, learn how you can transform and automate to enable this hybrid delivery strategy. The first place to start is a Cloud Discovery Workshop that will be discussed in the session.
Visit us next week in Orlando from May 15-18, 2011 at the SAPPHIRE NOW & ASUG 2011 - HP booth #2716
