If you’ve never had the opportunity to visit The Experience at HP’s Plano, TX facility, it is truly a one-of-a-kind environment. I recently talked with Alisha Bell, Manager of the Experience, and Susie Tobin, Manager of our Enterprise Services Briefing Centers about the Experience and its dynamic view into the people, processes and technology solutions that HP Enterprise Services has to offer.
What is The Experience?
The Experience is a part of our Enterprise Services Briefing Centers in Plano, TX, where we host clients from around the world. Briefing managers work with HP hosts to set an agenda and coordinate the logistics of the visit. Part of that agenda may include a tour of The Experience.
The Experience is an immersive environment where we bring what we do in Enterprise Services to life. Through demonstrations and Ambassador-led tours, we show clients how we can help them. Our Ambassadors are a group of HP employees who are selected to serve for a one year assignment. We are currently on our 32nd rotation. The Ambassadors go through extensive training to prepare them to give tours at all levels of the client organization. When you visit the Experience, you’re not coming just to see a technology solution demonstration, but to hear a compelling story about what we do in Enterprise Services for our clients every day.
Describe The Experience and what you might see when you take a tour
The Experience is located in Plano’s Service Management Center. When clients begin their visit, they’re greeted by the Ambassador, welcomed, and provided with some key facts about the facility, security, and how we manage our clients’ IT environments 24x7. They enter various rooms within the Experience, which is an 11,000 square foot space. We talk about our people, the value they bring, our knowledge and experience, our processes and tools to manage their data, patents and innovations, and client credentials. We show real examples of things we’re able to do for other clients that help bring to life what we’re able to do for them.
Why should clients visit The Experience?
Services, unlike products, are not tangible. We have to do something to bring services to life, to express what the impact is to a business and to our daily lives. The Experience highlights the importance of having the right technology and business solutions to help organizations cut costs, reduce risk, innovate and grow. A visit to The Experience helps them validate their decision making and expand their understanding of what HP can do for them. And, if a client is unable to travel to Plano, we have just recently launched the Virtual Experience. Our virtual tool allows us to take a client on a tour of Enterprise Services anywhere in the world.
