NASCAR revolutionizes fan and media engagement

NASCAR_IMG_0014_2_resized.jpgThe National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) wanted to engage with its broad and diverse fan base, gaining a comprehensive view of what fans, reporters, and the general public were saying about the sport. NASCAR, a U.S.-based auto racing sanctioning authority, sought to enhance the fan experience – whether fans are at the track or watching a race at home.

In a new testimonial video, NASCAR executives discuss their collaboration with HP to better serve fans, media and sponsors by creating the NASCAR Fan and Media Engagement Center – a solution based on HP’s Interactive Media Command Center that synthesizes big data in real-time.

Helping governments view the big picture

Military_big_data_monitoring.jpgWhat are you doing to address the challenge of data explosion? Do you have access to 100% of your enterprise’s structured and unstructured data? Can it be analyzed? Those are some of the questions that HP expert Diana Zavala, director of Information Management and Analytics for the Public Sector, says that public sector enterprises should be asking themselves to extract deeper meaning and insight from their data. She addresses the issues associated with meaning-based computing in the current issue of On the Front Lines magazine.

Using Big Data to change the game in the Energy industry

Remember Susan -- my colleague with the 1930 Pontiac Coupe? Recently, on a conference call, she lost all connectivity because of a power outage. She passionately expressed her frustration in our subsequent conversations. Her electric utility company would have recorded and processed her complaints -- if they were ready to process such unstructured data. But, did they? Are utility companies in the Energy sector ready to change the game by processing such data today?
