I just attended a two day event that covered 240 miles, 3,000,000 square feet and a boatload of technology. 240 miles is the distance between Dallas and Houston. 3,000,000 square feet is the size of the Dallas Cowboys stadium where the event started event. A boatload of technology is what we covered along the way.
While it would be great if they could bring each and every one of you to see where we create the cool technology that goes into building a ProLiant, you all wouldn’t fit. So they did the next best thing. They brought some key industry bloggers to be your eyes and ears, and share the experience with you. The bloggers and their blogs are listed at the end of this blog.
The first day was spent at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington TX, just outside Dallas. Here they showed us how HP technology is used to run the most technologically advanced stadium in the world. Martin MacLeod did a great review of the day in his blog:

That afternoon, they drove us the 240 miles to the Houston campus. On the trip to Houston Jeffery Powers (@Geekazine) was lamenting that Kevin Houston couldn’t come, because of the Snowpocalypse in Atlanta. That’s when he hatched the plan to connect Kevin in via Skype. He quickly realized that if it was going to be connected to the internet, he might as well live stream it for everyone that was interested.
This proved to be a very good idea. We had a running commentary from Kevin during the event, and a few questions from the approximately 30 users that tuned in live.
Here’s a list of the speakers we had, and the copies of what was streamed live during the day. (Remember, this is Jeff’s raw footage, not an HP production.)

Then we went to the power lab for Data Center Smart Grid for Converged Infrastructure with Intelligent Power Discovery.
