Virtual Connect Support Utility 1.6.0 is released

The HP Virtual Connect team has released the latest version of the Virtual Connect Support Utility, VCSU 1.6.0 for immediate download. We are contunualy enhancing the features and capabilities of this tool to respond to customer requests and new product requirements that will enhance the customer experience when using and upgrading Virtual Connect firmware.

 

Enhancements/New Features:
     • A VCSU update operation can be performed from a server blade in the same enclosure that is being updated. However, this feature is only supported when using a redundant network configuration on the server blade running the VCSU client.
     • If the enclosure is in VCM mode, a support dump is downloaded before an update operation begins.

 

Here is the process to find and get the latest VCSU 1.6.0 utility:

 

To download VCSU, go to the “VC Support Page” http://www.hp.com/support/vc

1. Select appropriate VC module

2. Select Download Drivers and Software

3. Select the appropriate Operating System (doesn’t show up under every operating system, I found it under the Microsoft Windows 2003 tab)

4. Select the "Utility - Tools" category

5. Select the latest version of Virtual Connect Support Utility and click Download button

 

The web page that contains the tool also has the Release Notes, Bug Fixes, etc. that you can review to see what has been changed. Let us know if this has made the process of firmware upgrades on Virtual Connect better and easier to use.

Please explain why the VC utility is not shown under all applicable Windows operating systems, such as Server 2008 R2? Why does HP make it so hard to find updates like this?
