HP ProLiant Gen9 Server Blades outperform Gen8 Server Blades

Save time and lower expenses while improving workload performance with the HP ProLiant BL460c Gen9 Server Blade for HP BladeSystem. An independent analyst study by Demartek found it performs ideally for Data Warehouse workloads such as decision support systems that examine large volumes of data, execute queries with a high degree of complexity and give answers to critical business questions.

The Data Warehousing workload was chosen to provide comparative information as a decision support vehicle. It consists of business oriented ad-hoc queries and concurrent data modifications. The workload testing allows shows the performance of the entire infrastructure, including network and storage.

During this test workload, the Gen9 Server Blade streams database workload queries an average of 31% faster while costing 10% less than comparative Gen8 hardware. It would save186,150 minutes or over 3100 hours per database server in operational time over three years. This generation delivers an infrastructure that meets IT needs for a more service driven platform.

The HP ProLiant BladeSystem Gen9 Server Blades are purpose-built for enterprise workloads delivering lower cost, faster performance, and higher value of service delivery. “Should an IT manager need to purchase more servers to handle an increased database workload, the Gen9 servers would be a smarter choice,” said Demartek.
