erin1.jpg2011 was a very big year for HP Networking and nowhere was that more evident than the media headlines. The year saw us introduce a whole host of new networking products, solutions and services; showcase some innovative technologies we’re building with our friends over in HP Labs; welcome Bethany Mayer as our permanent general manager and SVP for HP Networking; launch some great new programs for our networking channel partners—and most importantly, welcome lots of new customers around the world.

First up: Interop Las Vegas

Interop Las Vegas was a highlight for me for a number of reasons. First, this is where we introduced the HP FlexNetwork Architecture and received a very warm reaction from analysts, media and bloggers, as well as customers!

Big tradeshows like Interop are also so nice for giving me a chance to get hands on with our technology and deepen my smarts, spend time with my HP teammates who are scattered all over the country—and globe—and of course get face time with many of our key influencers. There’s nothing more rewarding than the ah-ha moment in a press or blogger briefing when you see the light bulb go off and the reporters or bloggers lean forward in their chair wanting to know more. You can only see that happen in a face-to-face meeting.

This year, it was also great to be able to showcase HP again as key provider of InteropNet, which provides the network backbone to the entire Interop event.
