9am PST on Monday 23rd August brings the very first HP Networking TechDay (#HPNetworkDay). We’ve wanted to do one of these for some time, ever since Calvin Zito from StorageWorks started them off in October 2009. HP have since hosted a BladeSystem day and another StorageWorks Day. Now it’s our turn. With ProCurve (the #2 Networking Vendor) and the acquisition of 3COM (the #3 Networking vendor) has, according to the recent Magic Quadrant on Enterprise LAN from Gartner, created a “Networking Powerhouse” and we want to share some news.

So what’s happening??

Monday morning brings a focus on our Enterprise family. Jay Mellman, Paul Congdon, Dom Wilde from HP Networking, and Mike Witkowski from the Virtual Connect team are going to focus on HP Converged Infrastructure, and how important Networking is including trends and standards. This will  be followed by a walk-through of HP’s Intelligent Management Center (which provides multi-vendor network management), and a session on standards.

The afternoon focuses on the Midmarket (E and V-series) as well as a tour of the Shake’n’Bake Lab. Tuesday finishes with a Security overview, and a look at Unified Communications and Collaboration from  convergence solutions architect, Manfred Arndt.
