Over the last two years, HP Networking has been very visible as the clear #2 vendor in networking. HP Networking is the only vendor that has the portfolio to compete head to head with the 800-pound gorilla and actually win. Industry analysts are encouraging customers to invite a second network vendor to reap the benefits that come with that decision. Because my job is to watch the competition closely, I put myself on the internal mailing list that our sales reps use to share good news of customer wins. We call it “ringing the bell.” I have to say, I cannot keep up with the number of wins that come to my mailbox every day! What an exciting time for HP Networking. As expected, Cisco is the competition in almost all of the deals we’re in. Here’s a quick snapshot of some of our recent wins—with more case studies and success story highlights to come.

A few days ago I came across an article on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) as it relates to networking by Art Wittmann of InformationWeek. He states that vendors like Cisco have come out strongly against research on multivendor networks. Art argues that Cisco is the one living the myth, as Cisco PR would like you to believe otherwise.
