What’s the right path to a better network solution across the entire enterprise?

By Daniel Montesanto, Global Product Strategy, HP Networking

Services_network.jpgIn the data center, server virtualization and cloud operating models have forever altered the way we initialize services, enabling new, large-scale application architectures that force infrastructure consolidation and tons of so-called east-west data center traffic. Clear at the other end of the IT chain, a flood of new devices and communication and models are disrupting the status quo at the client edge. Employees and partners are using technology to collaborate in new ways and access critical corporate assets with new handheld devices from almost anywhere. In the middle of this churning sea sits the network. Challenging? Definitely yes...making this a good time to start the discussion on the benefits of virtual service networks.

Catching the cloud and virtualization buzz at Interop Fall 2011

By John P. Gray, Global Solution Manager, HP Networking

10-5-2011 2-08-08 PM.jpgMy ears are ringing this week in NYC with all the buzz around virtualization and cloud at Interop Fall 2011. Here’s a quick recap (and useful links) on the latest HP Networking product news to get your network ready for the cloud: FlexNetwork architecture, Intelligent Resilient Framework, Intelligent Management Center and more. It’s how were’ changing the rules of networking.

FlexBranch: VMware and XenServer network modules reduce time to service. Visit HP booth at Interop.

Interop NY 2011 FlexB booth.jpgEvery day, I read about cloud computing and something as a service - IaaS, SaaS and a myriad of XaaS. Have you heard of BaaS? Branch as a service. Yes, I totally made that up but not far from the truth. Virtualization is one of the key technologies unleashing the power of XaaS. My point is, virtualization has reached the branch going beyond the boundaries of the data center. A converged infrastructure of server and network have come together to put total control in the hands of the customer. Pick the most appropriate off the shelf application for your business that is certified to run in VMware vSphere 5.0 or XenServer and deliver the capability to reduce time to service and reduce TCO in the branch.
